Recycling Plastic Shopping Bags

With all those gifts wrapped you'll probably have a stack of plastic carrier bags from most of the shops you brought goods from. As much as you can re-use a lot of them, Christmas normally brings far too many to realistically keep.

The UK uses over 8 billion plastic bags each year and a lot of home 'kerbside' recycling collections now do accept carrier bags (check yours with our search bar above) and many larger local supermarkets have bring banks near the doors to collect them too.
